MEMPHIS, Tennessee, June 14, 2023 – The West Tennessee Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (WTCABC) announced Congressman David Kustoff, who represents Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District, has been awarded an ABC Eagle Award. He accepted the honor at the site of Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital’s newest expansion on Friday, June 9.

The ABC Eagle Award is reserved for legislators who vote consistently with ABC on the key issues identified on the legislative scorecard. Lawmakers who voted with ABC on key issues 70% or more during the 117th Congress (2021-22) earned an ABC Eagle Award.

“Now more than ever, the merit shop construction industry needs strong representatives in Washington,” said WTCABC President Amber Harris. “With the efforts of leaders like Congressman Kustoff, who has a 100% voting record with ABC, policies like the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act were prevented from passing last Congress.”

Congressman Kustoff took a tour of the hospital’s four-story, approximately $95 million addition from Turner Construction, the project’s general contractor. Andy Davis, Turner Construction Vice President and WTCABC First Vice Chairman of the Board, presented the congressman with his award, noting his support of workforce development and the merit shop philosophy and his impact on the construction industry in the region.
