Over the last year while on the board, I have seen how the board is working to educate and promote the trades in our communities. This work is impacting our industry, ABC members, and trade workers live in a positive way. We need this work more than ever from ABC, and nothing could be more true! While I have been fortunate to be in the industry for over 20 years, Workforce development is now a career passion for me. Thank you, ABC for making a difference in the lives of so many men and women in our industry!

I joined ABC over 40 years ago in 1980 and have been an active member ever since. Prior to joining, I had been involved with both union and non-union construction projects, so ABC’s merit shop voice resonated very loudly with me. There is no doubt the free enterprise system we all enjoy and benefit from today is alive and thriving largely due to ABC. But it is much more than just being our political voice. ABC is everything about construction, addressing every need, every issue, every challenge we face, every day. And that is why ABC is the largest construction association in the country. I am very proud to be a long-standing member. Way to go ABC!!!

West TN ABC has been an outstanding partner for our company since re-joining in 2018. It has created many opportunities for all levels of our Rose team to participate, volunteer, and network with other member companies. The seminars and business luncheon meetings are always very informative and essential for staying connected to construction industry trends and topics. We have enjoyed participating and volunteering at the many ABC sponsored job/career fairs and other events that provide our team members opportunities to give back to the communities in which we work. In addition we have had several of our field management team participate in courses such as OSHA 10 & 30, fall protection, and project management via training provided thru ABC that we as a company would otherwise not have been able to provide. West TN ABC is a vitally important advocate for the construction industry and to companies like ours through our local and state legislation, keeping us abreast of important issues and working for all of our behalf! We are very thankful for West TN ABC and our membership/partnership has been a positive addition to our business!

Smith Doyle Contractors, Inc. has been a West Tennessee Associated Builders and Contractors Chapter member since 1983. Our firm’s founder, Mr. Wayne L. Smith, who served on the Chapter’s Board of Directors, recognized the values that our membership and participation in ABC brings to merit shop contractors. We were the first West Tennessee member to achieve ABC’s Accredited Quality Contractors “AQC” designation in 1983, have participated in the “Safety Training Evaluation Process” “STEP” program every year since 1989, currently hold the “Platinum” designation and have received numerous “Excellence in Construction Awards” for our projects. Having these additional designations, validates to the owner community that we take corporate responsibilities in the areas of safety, employee benefits, training and community development very seriously. The ABC continues to be the strongest, free-enterprise voice for our industry at the local, state and federal levels, providing a means for our members messages to be heard and their struggles and concerns to be expressed.
